With an Influx in people from New York and California moving to Florida it is interesting the age range of people moving into the sunshine state. I do see the draw of Florida as someone from California. With the warm sun and beautiful beaches, along with a affordable housing market and stable economy.

According to a recent analysis conducted recently, the average annual income of individuals relocating to Florida stands at $55,000. These individuals primarily belong to the millennial or Gen Xer generation, are married, and have moved from either New York or California. The analysis, which utilized individual-level data from the Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey compiled by the University of Minnesota’s IPUMS program, revealed that a higher proportion of older generations were among those moving to Florida. Furthermore, these movers were more inclined to be married and less likely to be employed compared to those leaving the state.
