Despite the slowdown in new listings and closed sales in Minnesota, housing prices continue to rise throughout the state, largely due to the current sky-high mortgage rates.
Minnesota Realtors’ July 2023 data reveals significant variations in the local housing markets across Minnesota. Take, for instance, the Twin Cities region, encompassing the seven counties surrounding Minneapolis-St. Paul, where the median home sale price stands at $380,000. Properties in this area are selling slightly above the list price and typically spend 23 days on the market before being sold. Conversely, in the South Central region, the median price is $253,500, and homes tend to sell just below the list price. Moving to the Upper Minnesota Valley, the median price drops to a mere $136,500, and homes take a longer duration of 51 days to sell.
